Days 60 & 61 ~ An Intervention
WHAT: Project 365 (2009), Travel   |   WHEN: March 2, 2009
I was in Seattle the last couple days... without a camera. When we were on our way to the airport to head out there and Kylie asked me if I brought my camera and I said 'No, I didn't want to', she looked panicked. The "Honey, are you feeling okay? Maybe we should stop by the emergency room" kind of panicked. She'd never heard those words from me before, and in fact I wasn't sure she'd be able to find me in a crowd without a D3 cemented to my hand and a camera bag slung over my shoulder.

It's true. I declared a need for a self-intervention. I'm addicted to photography. Actually, I think it had more to do with just getting finished plowing through over 3,600 honeymoon photos and individually editing over 500 images... I was burnt out and needed a break. Besides, I'd been to Seattle before and taken a fair amount of images, and the weather for this trip was supposed to be pretty ugly, so I convened with myself and made an executive decision. No camera on this trip. It didn't hurt to know that the D3 and 2 broken lenses needed to go into the shop anyway from injuries suffered before the wedding and in Italy.

Turns out it didn't rain at all in Seattle pretty much the whole time during the 3 days we were there. The irony was not lost on me. I did feel a few bouts of trigger finger twitching coming on while walking down the street on a couple different occasions, and more than once I started to reach back for my camera bag, but all-in-all, it was a nice little break. I couldn't, of course, completely contain myself, and I did finally ask Kylie to hand over her little point & shoot so I could grab a couple images down near the market. Nothing great, but enough to keep me from developing a full-blown withdrawal melt-down. Besides, I needed to post something for Project 365. So here's my contributions for the last couple days.

Using a little f/zero from the 2nd set of Totally Rad Actions.

More fzero.

Kylie buying some chocolate dessert pasta. Who knew, right?

Just playin' in Photochop. A little overdone, but hey, it's my image and I'll do what I want with it.
