Fall photography season is in full swing, but it wouldn't be complete without a session with the Chambers family.  As I've mentioned before, Andy & Laura were naive brave enough to be the very first family I ever photographed back in December of 2004.  At that time it was just them and little Emma.  Well, little Emma has since become big Emma and brother John has been added to round out the family.  I've photographed this bunch several times now, and I'm always surprised/excited to see how much the kids have grown.  I guess I have this mental time warp issue sometimes where I expect everyone to look the same every time I see them.  [grin]

I don't understand how both kids ended up with red hair... That's a joke, people.

The Moores are one of my favorite families to photograph.  Maybe it's because their kids call me "Photo Man Matt" and are always in a good mood whenever I see them.  Maybe it's because I've known and worked with Lana for years, and we have the same sarcastic sense of humor that allows us to trade jabs without having to worry about offending each other.  Maybe its because Bobby is one of the coolest, most fun dads during a photo session, even offering to unbutton his shirt and show a little extra all in the name of a good photo.  Note: against my better judgement, I did not take a photo of this, so I apologize if you were hoping to see a little more of Bobby in this post. The last time I photographed the Moores was in early 2008, just after little Sam became the newest member of the family, and that session was really more about the kiddos.  This time everybody was part of the gig, and we met up in Chestnut Square in McKinney, TX to create some new images.  Here are my favorites from our session. Loved the light and texture of the wood as a backdrop in this image, and the expressions were perfect.

Two. Handsome. Little. Guys.

There's just something about this image that I love.  I think it's the feeling that these are just two buddies hangin' out, one chucklin' at somethin' the other said or did.  I could see this same image playing out when their 20, and then 40, and then 60.

The best part about this image is that I noticed Max sitting on a small log lookin' all GQ, and right as I was taking this photo, Sam ran over and sat down in front of Max.  Totally something I woulda done as a little brother.

Quote from Bobby during their viewing appointment: "Man, look how studly I look in this photo."

It was right about here that Bobby was telling Max he was going to be Princess Leia for Halloween instead of mom.

The best part about this next image is Max trying to force a smile while Sam's got his crazy smile on while perched on top of Bobby.

Say hello to the Hortons.  I've known Jace and Melanie for several years when I first met them through a Dallas Sport and Social Club co-ed flag football league.  That seems like such a long time ago when I think about it... we were still partying like it was 1999, these two didn't have kids yet, and photography wasn't even on my list of things to do in the future.  Surely things have changed since then, but one thing that's remained constant is these two are a beautiful couple... and now their genes have obviously been passed down to their sons Tate and Nash.  Oh, and by the way, lemme take a second to point out that I still think those are two of the coolest brother names around.  Don't they just exude coolness?  Watch out mom and dad... I think your boys might be just a little popular with the girls in the years to come. Almost exactly two years ago to the day, I met up with the Hortons for a session at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.  This time we headed out to Adriatica in McKinney, and I'm really happy with the images we captured that day.  Here are some of my favorites from our second go-around.

I posted this image in the sneak peek from a couple days ago, and it still makes me smile every time I see it.  Just boys being boys.

Of all the great images we got, this is without a doubt my favorite.  Two buddies just hangin' out.  I'm imagining the conversation these two will have 30 years from now when they look back on this image.
