Dianna  AMEN. I may have to write a similar entry for my blog.  Jul 14, 2009 ~ 9:10pm
Jaret  enjoy your stuff very much. had a question about your black and whites. it seems like your dropping your darks, blacks to almost grays (horses) then adding color into the shadows. is that the case and would you be willing to share? thanks  Jul 13, 2009 ~ 9:31pm
Matt  @ Tanya - It was actually very easy. Just used a tripod, set my aperture at f/5.6, ISO at 200, and shutter speed to bulb, then just experimented holding the shutter open for various lengths of time. I found I had better results when only one or two fireworks were going off at a time. Other wise I ended up with a big ball of light. The other thing I didn't try that I should have was just leaving the shutter open and using a black sheet of paper or cloth to put in front of the lens in between explosions... this would've helped me get better results for multiple fireworks exposures. Hope that helps!  Jul 9, 2009 ~ 12:41pm
Kathy Norwood  Matt, You are my new favorist (if that is a word) comedian. I love your posts because they are so funny and real. You can make something so ordinary come alive and be refreshing. You have as my mother would say "The gift of gab". Bless you, you wonderful soul.  Jul 8, 2009 ~ 7:54am

tanya  I was really hoping you would post some fireworks for us. Can you do a post on how you got to these images? Very fun, glad you're back!  Jul 7, 2009 ~ 12:37pm
Andrea  I hope you two can work things out, otherwise, I might actually have to pay attention to my kids, or god forbid, get some actual work done. May I suggest a romantic getaway?  Jul 7, 2009 ~ 10:33am
Karen  I'm hoping your blog doesn't talk to my blog...if she did, then my blog would feel even more neglected than she does! ;)  Jul 7, 2009 ~ 10:25am
Monica  Too funny. I'm always amazed how often you post and how much substance there is to what you have to say. Glad you're taking it easy.  Jul 7, 2009 ~ 8:40am
David  I was chuckling before I even started reading. ;) Love reading and viewing your blog, Matt, but I totally understand when it doesn't have an update for a few days. The emails are one of the things I most look forward to.  Jul 7, 2009 ~ 7:45am
