Jeff Marcowitz  Matt: Was referred to your website by a colleague. I hear ya brother...my wife and I were in Vernazza in October and share your pain. 129 steps up to our room. See the palm tree to the left of your balcony in your first image? Our balcony looked right out on that!  Feb 12, 2009 ~ 12:27pm
Trace  Did we forget to mention those steps?!! Oops!! Thanks for taking kick a$$ pics of Vernazza since mine were pretty much all out of focus!!  Feb 12, 2009 ~ 10:16am
Wes  That has to be one of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen. Next time I'm in Italy, I'm going to try and stay in Vernazza with my wife!  Feb 10, 2009 ~ 10:59pm
Shena Luna  I'm out of breath just looking at those stairs! My husband might have had to carry me the last part of the way (lol).  Feb 10, 2009 ~ 12:35pm
Farrah Braniff  I've been there! It's lovely and yes...so many steps!  Feb 10, 2009 ~ 8:37am
Tanya Mills  what magnificent photos! And your luggage story really made me laugh! And reminded me of the first (and last) time I brought too much luggage to Europe. Now I always err on the side of too little...  Feb 10, 2009 ~ 12:09am
Michelle  WOW these photos are beautiful. I drove through that area when I was in Italy this summer. I would love to stay in Cinque Terra next time I go. Where did you stay?  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 8:37pm
Melissa Jill :)  Those last two photos are unbelievably gorgeous! So I think I have you beat on the European stairs. I took the subway across Paris and had to change trains three times with my luggage going up and down about 4 staircases at each change plus through the turn styles. I definitely learned my lesson: pay for a taxi! :)  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 7:33pm
michele  love these matt!!! and for the record, u really did not over-dramatize. david and i experienced the SAME thing when we stayed in Portofino. lol. i consider myself in shape, but i was literally in tears by the time we made it up - definitely worth the hike in the end though! and your images! made for a great post! ;)  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 11:55am
Shannon  Oh vernazza..love this town! great story about the stairs!!! where did you stay??  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 11:18am
Monica  It's a little hard to feel sorry for you...an amazing experience/place AND developing buns/lungs of steel! Glad you're having a great time.  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 9:05am
Peachy C  Matt I so know what you mean about steps! Train stations in Rome and Milan have mountains of steps where you have to carry your luggage UP to the train! But, gotta love Italy!  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 8:44am
Dennis Bullock  Wow that is such an amazing location!  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 8:23am
Philip Casey  Simply amazingly beautiful! Love the story.  Feb 9, 2009 ~ 2:51am
