The Start of A Bittersweet Goodbye
I've been in this apartment for the last 2 years, and although I'm really excited to get the keys to my first house tomorrow, I'm gonna miss this view. I can see this church from my bedroom window, and even though I don't attend service there, there's something very peaceful about it's presence.
Tonight we had a pretty nasty storm, but it let up right before sundown and painted the sky an amazing - almost unnatural-looking - orange color. I've only seen it look like that one other time in my life, so I grabbed my camera and ran outside to catch the fleeting light. It literally only lasted a couple minutes, but it was truly majestic. This first image below was helped along a bit in Photoshop because I want to make a cool print out of it, but the 3rd image was pretty much straight out of the camera. can you believe that color? |
I don't actually move into the new house until the middle of August (apparently I'm waiting for it to be 106 outside instead of the relatively chilly 102 temps we're experiencing now), so I'm just gonna sit back and soak up the view for a couple more weeks. I can't think of a better way to put off packing even longer. |
