Day 210 ~ Unburdening
Posting to the blog has obviously slowed down recently. Part of that can be attributed to the usual summer slow down with the heat in Texas. Recently it's been more than that, though. Life has been getting in the way lately, and I've run myself down a bit, and my body and soul has been not-so-subtly telling me it was time for a break. The most obvious sign is that picking up the camera has recently felt more like a burden than a blessing... not a place I want to be when I'm looking through the viewfinder. I love photography, no doubt. It is my passion, and I feel like it's undoubtedly my calling. Even so, as with anything, too much of it without a break can lead to burnout without intervention. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to step away from it for awhile in order to recharge, refresh and re-engage. That's where I'm at right now, and I look forward to getting back in the proverbial saddle shortly. In the meantime, here's a random collection of a few images from recent excursions and happenings. God bless. |
We recently had a garage sale with our friends Jerry & Tina at their house. Here's a few of my items for sale from that eBay antique phase I went threw about 8 years ago. Man, eBay needs to implement some kind of sanity filter/warning system. "Uh, dude, you do realize you're getting ready to buy a musty 50 year-old coffee grinder... for a ridiculous price. And you don't even drink coffee. Seriously? Maybe you should take a second to think abou this." |
My friend Daniel recently started a new chapter in his life with a recent career change. Good for you, Daniel. Best wishes in your new endeavor. |
